What I did on my summer vacation.

I was just thinking (maybe you saw the smoke...heh heh) about school. Remember how you couldn't wait for summer vacation and then somewhere toward the end you wouldn't admit that you were kind of bored, but you were. But still, you didn't want to have to go back to school? And remember how you thought it was so mean of grown-ups to say that they couldn't wait for school to start again.

Now I'm one of those grown-ups.

Maybe its the heat, or the, as it was put at Spin Club last night by one of the Jennifers, the SOUL SUCKING HUMIDITY. Maybe its the fact that I haven't HAD a summer vacation. I'm bored. And I'm tired of seeing teenagers everywhere. And kids running across the street without looking, and whining and crying in the stores. Worst of all, listening to some of them talk. What were they doing during last year's school year? Didn't they learn grammar? I don't feel guilty that I'm one of those grown-ups. Should I?

It'll be nice to get some cooler weather here in the Mid-Atlantic. Even my sweat has been sweating. Makes it difficult to knit because everything sticks. And of course, I've been knitting socks. Doesn't that make perfect summer-knitting sense? I just haven't had the drive to knit anything else, even though I got so much great stuff at MDS&W, and as always, have a room full of yarn and fiber that has patterns and plans just waiting.

I will say though, this has been a good summer in a lot of ways. I've developed some new friendships thanks to the fiber addictive/enabling groups I belong to. I've finished 2 pairs of socks and frogged 5 times that amount.

But I'm ready for fall. Cooler weather. I'm hoping that my knitting blahs will go away. Otherwise this is going to make for one bo-ring blog.
