A wee little visit from the flying fickle finger of fate.

And the weekend ain't over yet.

On Saturday morning I got up kinda early (not easy to do when its been a busy week, and its raining, and hell, its Saturday), so I could go to knit with one of my knitting groups. Seems they decided to change the date, location AND time. Which doesn't bother me, but 10am on Saturday mornings I like to pretend I'm still asleep. I was ready to go, knitting packed, dogs peed, all the good stuff. But my car wasn't. I currently lease a 2001 Ford Taurus Piece of Shit. And Saturday morning was the time that the battery decided it no longer wanted to work. As a matter of fact, every time I tried to turn the car on it ticked like a time-bomb. Fortunately for me, this is also a knitting group that Pregnant Sammy belongs to, and she was going to be attending too. Even more fortunate, she had just left the house and I was on her way. THANK YOU PREGNANT SAMMY! (Pregnant Sammy, by the way, will not be pregnant in another week or so, hooray! Can't wait to meet the little bugger.) So she saved the day and whisked by to pick me up. Which was cool, because had I not gone I wouldn't have finally met Jacey. Its about frickin' time. Hopefully she'll write a pattern for her Bea Arthur sweater, which she was wearing, and she needs to give to me. I love green Jacey. Watch your back.

So, a cup of coffee, a bagel, a few rounds on my socks, a new battery and a gallon of antifreeze later, I decided to pass up a trip in my now functioning car to the grocery store and head to one of the multitude of car dealerships up the road.

Long story short, after about 3 hours of negotiations there and about 6 hours more of research at home, one of 2 cars will be coming to live Chez Dog-topia within a months time.

The Honda Fit Sport. In which I'd be able to fit an entire alpaca. Yes, I said it, an ALPACA. Its in their sales literature.

Or a used Honda CRV EX, which I've been aching for for over a year now. And which I think I could also fit a llama, though he'd have to duck his head a bit.

Time will tell, along with my patience. The scary thing is, I think I enjoy car buying negotiations.
