Flying with sinus infections and other tales
People, for the last week and a half there has been a swamp monster living in my head. I've been living and working in a semi-gooey haze, trying to get as much work done as possible, in between naps. And I have to cram in a lot of work, December is a short month for me. After about the 18th, not a single customer wants to see my face.
This past week, I got to fly to Boulder, CO, for the national sales meetings for one of the companies we represent (I won't name it, there are a few companies headquartered out there). I've never been to Colorado before, and even with bleary eyes and a painful head, it was beautiful. And, novelty of novelties to those of us in the Mid-Atlantic, even though it was cold, it wasn't painfully cold like it is here. No wind. The meeting itself was amazing. Normally, I'd say that sales meetings are boring and tedious, with people droning on just to hear themselves speak. In this case, it was so well orchestrated that everything flowed like clockwork and no meeting lasted more than an hour. Thursday through Sunday, and I even got to take naps. We were housed at the Hotel Boulderado, and the meeting was held in their conference rooms. Except for the opening ceremonies and the awards dinner. They were at the Boulder Theater. And the gifts! Oh, the gifts. Swag like you would NOT believe. And I used to work with touring musicians!
There were times I even felt well-ish enough to snap some pictures with my trusty cell-phone camera. Here goes.

So, now I'm home and I've been attempting to work, as I said earlier. I've also been trying to get my holiday knitting butt in gear. Neither of which have been going well. Here's hoping the new antibiotics really kick in tomorrow.
