2007. Where's my clown parade?
Toy Fair 2007. And I'm back. But the clown parade that ususally opens the whole shebang wasn't, and I am sad. Because that was one of my favorite parts. It made the whole exhaustion of doing another trade show, though admittedly a trade show in which I get to play with toys all day, bearable. I had to soothe myself by riding driving a PlasmaCar around the little race-track in the booth. Clowns make me happy. No clowns make me sad.
As far as my review of the toys, well, I think the best toys this year were actually the ones I sell! Look out for a company called Yoho which is being distributed by one of the companies I work for (actually one of my favorite companies that I work for). They call their products 'Skilled Energy Products'. Fancy wording for 'stuff that makes kids want to play and expend energy.' The owner and one of his employees were in our booth demonstrating, and all the reps, customers and even reps from other companies, wanted to learn this stuff! And I'm telling you, while it was fun, it was work at the same time. You found yourself realizing that you were using muscles you hadn't expected to use. They have this thing called Diabolo which is a 'free-form' yo-yo. Fun as all get-out people! Apparently one out of every 3 households in Australia have one of these things. And the LED Staff, ok, remember a few years back, that kid who took the video of himself being a Jedi with a broomstick?
