Staying up past my bed-time to blog. Again.
First of all, I need to thank the blogless Fiberlicious for stepping up and demonstrating spinning for the Reston Zoo. Sorry the free fleeces were icky, but hey, they were free. Still, it goes to show you just how cool the fiber-arts community is. Keep in touch tho Fiberlicious, you're fun to talk to. Hopefully I'll get to participate next year.
This is the reason I couldn't go this year.
A much, much better place to have been if I do say so myself. This was the re-wedding of my cousin Jared and my way cooler, Chinese cousin, Xia Xia. They've actually been married for the past 7 years, but its been a secret. After they told their parents finally, they decided that it was high time to do it in public too. That's Jared's father, my uncle Cliff, in the background. He officiated. And Xia Xia's parents and favorite uncle came from China to be there too. I lied. They were also here because of THIS.
Tavian. The worlds nummiest baby. I'm still not sure where Xia Xia was carrying him. He's almost as big as she is.
All around the whole thing was pretty cool. I don't see that side of the family often enough.

Just the cousins and the baby cousins. Its really rather neat to see how we've all turned out.
Xia Xia's parents are the cutest thing since Sea Monkeys. Cuter than that even.
They don't speak one stinkin' word of English but I love them to death. Her mom came to stay with them the day after the baby was born, and left the week after the re-wedding. Her dad was here for just a month or so. Can you imagine only seeing your grand-baby grow via e-mail? Getting to see him twice a year if you are lucky? My heart just breaks for them. But they do agree, you can DEFINITELY tell Xia Xia and I are related. And I have a standing invitation to visit them in China. Hmmmmm. Can you spin panda?
Yesterday, after knitting, I went over to Jacey's and she taught me how to dye fiber properly. Plus, I got to play with Little Bit and Sweet Pea, smiley baby with the red, red hair. Them's some fun kids.
And there has been knitting, though part of it is on a super-secret project. The rest of it has just been socks. I finished another pair of Jaywalkers that I have yet to take a picture of. Its been hot. I don't want to put on socks. Now I'm well into a pair of Dublin Bay socks. Very. Red. Squishy. Dublin Bay socks.
But as I said earlier. Its past my bedtime. I need to be up early tomorrow. Poo.

It was my pleasure, hon - thanks for the opportunity. Not only did I get to demo and play with the animals, I made a new friend - YOU!
