Sydney update

Sydney is home and doing just fine.

He spent 2 days in the hospital, under observation and being randomly poked and prodded, though for his own good.  By all accounts he was a great patient and as always a perfect gentleman.  I on the other hand, was a perfect mess.  And I called every 2 hours or so for an update, even if it was just to hear that nothing had changed.

Yesterday evening he was seen by the cardiologist, who I've dealt with before and I like.  He agreed that Sydney definitely had a seizure, but it was probably cardiac related and even more probably brought on by one of the medications Sydney was taking for the pancreatitis he had late last week.  So we promptly stopped that.  There is also the possibility that one of his heart medications triggered the seizure, so we're waiting on a test result, that may come back today or tomorrow.

In news that makes me oh-so-happy, Sydney's heart muscle has shrunk since April.  And that is good news.  It actually means his ticker is healthier than it was 3 months ago.  AND he lost another pound!

Temper that news with the fact that there is still something missing from his heart beat (don't ask me to explain, I barely understand myself) when they did an EKG.  We're not exactly dancing in the streets, but we are certainly THRILLED to have our Sydney back.

Thrilled doesn't describe it.  Neither does saying that I could hug him until he explodes.  We're just so happy he's home.
